Is That You, Monster?: Check Inside the Secret Pockets If You Dare!

Description

Sam and his friends are camping overnight, and even though their tents are pitched no farther from home than Sam's backyard, it's still an adventure. But night has fallen and Sam is feeling nervous. Is a monster lurking somewhere in the dark shadows? Sam begins searching, and kids who open this book can search with him. Adopting the touch-and-feel format on every page, this book features large color illustrations with a cardboard pocket on each picture. Kids are invited to reach into each pocket to help Sam seek out the monster. First, Sam tiptoes into the dark garage as the other kids look on. He reaches beneath an old blanket, where somebody--or something--might be hiding, and he touches something moist. Is it the monster's drool? A pocket into a tent's opening lets Sam--and young readers--touch something furry. The monster's body? When Sam and his readers reach down into a dry well, they touch something with spiky points. The monster's tail? At last, reaching beneath a canvas tarpaulin that covers an old row boat, Sam and his readers touch the monster himself! A big pop-up head springs out from the book's final two-page spread. All the other kids flee, but Sam is no longer frightened. This monster is smiling and friendly.

Ideal for home or classroom, this 32-page coloring book is a supplement to the award-winning, rhyming picture book, Bucket Filling from A to Z: The Key to Being Happy. Educational and entertaining, this book offers hours of coloring fun as children engage with dozens of pages while learning all about bucket filling.  Winner of:2014 Living Now Book Awards, Bronze, Gift/Specialty/Keepsake2015 Purple Dragonfly Book Awards, 1st, Activity Book Charles Curran in his newest book The Development of Moral Theology: Five Strands, brings a unique historical and critical analysis to the five strands that differentiate Catholic moral theology from other approaches to Christian ethics -- sin and the manuals of moral theology, the teaching of Thomas Aquinas and later Thomists, natural law, the role of authoritative church teaching in moral areas, and Vatican II. Significant changes have occurred over the course of these historical developments. In addition, pluralism and diversity exist even today, as illustrated, for example, in the theory of natural law proposed by Cardinal Ratzinger. In light of these realities, Curran proposes his understanding of how the strands should influence moral theology today. A concluding chapter highlights the need for a truly theological approach and calls for a significant change in the way that the Iris Grace free ebook papal teaching office functions today and its understanding of natural law.
